A native of East Tennessee, Winston Burrell arrived in St. Augustine (St. Johns County) after 12 years in Key West and the Florida Keys. "I am so excited to now live in America´s oldest city featuring such beauty and diversity," comments Burrell. "I have always placed emphasis on serving my customers with integrity, professionalism, personal competence and ethics along with giving my personal best to the local community, I looked for the same qualities in making a new business association in St. Augustine." Prior to moving to St. Augustine, Burrell spent a career in journalism and for 14 years he served as the publisher or owner. Burrell spent the past 3 years as Director of Development for Greater Miami and the Florida Keys American Red Cross. His community service includes, 8 years as a Director of Key West Chamber of Commerce, 7 years as a Board of Director of the Key West Yacht Club and three terms as Commodore of the club, 6 years as an appointed member of the Florida Keys Tourist Development Committee DAT 1, 6 years of the NAS Key West Military Affairs Committee and serving as chairman for 2 years, 5 years as a member of the Navy League, 4 years as a member of the Salvation Army Board of Advisors, and a founding director of the Cuban-American Heritage Festival.
Burrell is married to Judge Sandra Taylor in Florida´s 16th Judicial Circuit. They reside in the Tuscany neighborhood wit a Springer spaniel, four bossy cats and dear friends who have also moved from Key West. Leisure time for the family includes traveling and spending quality time with friends. When not working or traveling, they enjoy NASCAR racing, and trying to keep up with two sons : Tim in Birmingham, Ala. who races cars in the ARCA series and Dustin who is a world class racing sailor and a driver on IMCA Dirt Car series. Burrell has been involved with NASCAR in some form of racing most of his adult life. |
